Théâtre jeune public : le chemin du français en russe, sur l'exemple de Mongol de Karin Serres

Abstract : Nowadays, theatre for children and young people conquers the French cultural territory – it’s more and more played, published, seen and read. Unfortunately, not all the countries let it conquer their cultural field that easily. For example, in Russia, although there are numerous talented authors, directors and actors who would love to talk to children, the plays addressed to the young are still for the most part unknown amongst readers and theatre audiences. Nourishing the Russian theatre corpus could bring some attention to this field, translation is one of the ways of this nourishment. And why not translating plays coming from the culture, where theatre for young people is quite successful, the French one? But before doing so one should try to answer the following question: how to translate into Russian a contemporary French play for young audiences given the cultural and political context in France and in Russia?
