Le rôle du corps dans l’apprentissage des lettres cursives en grande section de maternelle

Abstract : In a current context of revalorization of fundamental knowledge, nursery schools must give an important place to the handwriting. Aware of the interest of using the body in cursive letter learning sessions, this research aims to distinguish the effects of the arms from those of the whole body. In order to do so, these two conditions will be compared to a more classical paper-pencil modality. The results obtained in this study do not allow us to conclude on potential significant effects of whole body or arm use. On the contrary, it appears that the letters learned in the classical sessions are on average better drawn and that the students are better able to name them. Even if the results are not what is expected, this experimentation makes it possible to question and envisage possible effects outside the training methods.
