Voyage en Inde : conseils aux voyageurs appliqués à l’officine

Abstract : India being a very touristic destination, it attracts many travelers requires appropriate precautions both before departure and during the trip. Community pharmacists are health professionals having an important role to play in informing the traveler about the prevention of food and waterborne diseases by explaining the food safety and hygiene rules to respect. The pharmacist also has to provide advice on suitable insecticides in relation to vector-borne diseases. Especially, he will advise on the composition of the first-aid kit and any related information to plan a trip under the best possible conditions. Furthermore, it is crucial for the traveler to understand that a trip to this type of destination requires a medical examination in order to first, assess and check his or her vaccination record, and second get a prescription for the appropriate antimalarial chemoprophylaxis drug.
