Le dopage en France: les connaissances et la place du pharmacien d'officine dans la prévention des pratiques dopantes auprès du sportif

Abstract : Doping is a term known to all and it tarnishes the image of sport. It is also dangerous for athletes, especially amateurs, and it is important to do our best to stop these practices. This thesis first places doping in the history of sport, with some dates. Through figures, we can see the impact of doping in sport in France. It is essential for the dispensary pharmacist to be informed about the substances and methods prohibited in the world of sport, in order to detect athletes who are likely to dope, whether intentionally or not. Among these many recalled substances, two will be developed, pseudo-ephedrine, which is widely available for sale directly in pharmacies, and glucocorticoids, which are strongly prescribed due to their place in many treatment regimens. Many institutions are fighting against this scourge, whether internationally or regionally. We will see them in this text. As the last bulwark in the legal distribution of many prohibited substances, we will learn about the means available to pharmacists to play their role in preventing doping behaviors.
