L'apprentissage de compétences de langage oral dans un jeu symbolique de déguisement à l'école maternelle

Abstract : Though playing and learning seems at first sight paradoxical, the 2015 programs acknowledge that play have a primary role in the development of children. This writing questions the acquisition of oral language skills through a symbolic game of disguise. Comparing the results of 2 students groups, one in the situation of a free play, the other in the situation of a structured game, over the course of 8 lessons, shows thatboth group acquire syntax skills, but with consistent differences. The students experiencing the structured game seem to have gone beyond the skills acquired by the other group, in that they more often used complex sentences with subordinate clauses. Beyond this statement, we can also discuss the outlines of oral language skills, the visibility of the learning process, and socio-emotional integration. This socio-emotional dimension appears to be decisive for every student’s success and seems to contribute to the pleasure of learning.
