La poésie comme support de création en arts plastiques

Abstract : Based on a learning session analysis run through fifth grade students, this master’s thesis is questioning the fact of using poetry as a creation support in plastic arts. The aim of this study is to lead the student to approach the poetry’s drawing as a proper act of creation in its whole, by questioning a practice. For the teacher, this is a tool that will help him to think about his practice, tapping into the entire resource the poetry has to offer, most of the time unexploited, to serve the plastic creation approach, especially through the drawing. This study is based on the following questioning: Does a 10 year-old student know how to draw what inspires him when reading poetry? Does the teacher use enough poetry to enlighten the student sensibility and nurture the plastic art creation? The results show that students need to be tooled up and guided to be able, at a later stage, to move away from formal poetry drawing. The interaction between those two disciplines, respectively poetry and plastic art, is a fertile breeding ground which deserves to be exploited over time to increase opportunities for reflexion and practice.
