Intérêt de l’hypnose dans la pratique de la version par manœuvre externe : étude prospective comparative au CHU de Caen

Abstract : To assess the utility of clinical hypnosis associated with external cephalic version (ECV), we realized a prospective and comparative study at the University Hospital of Caen. After the ECV attempt, both groups completed a questionnaire ("Hypnosis" group n=17; control group n=17) and data were collected from the medical records. Results: This study did not find a significant difference between the groups concerning the success of the ECV (53% in the "Hypnosis" group versus 59% in the control group; p=0,73), the pain (NRS – 4,1 vs 4,7; p=0,60) or the anxiety (NRS – 4,2 vs 5,5; p=0,22). This study showed that women were interested in hypnosis and considered that clinical hypnosis, when it occurred, provided help and relaxation.
