Étude rétrospective de 139 comblements sinusiens et mise en place simultanée de 299 implants

Abstract : Dental implant placement in the maxilla can be complicated due to bone resorption and pneumatization of the sinus. The technique of sinus lift with placement of filling materials has been described. It was established that a residual bone height of 4mm was required to be able to perform implant placement in the same procedure. The objective of this study is therefore to evaluate the implant success rate during simultaneous sinus lift implant placement with a bone height less than or equal to 4 mm. This study is a retrospective study based on cases treated in a private practice. Data were collected from patient records. A total of 133 patients underwent the surgical procedure between December 2015 and January 2019. 299 self-tapping cylindro-conical implants were placed in 139 procedures and on 147 sinuses. Autogenous bone was placed in 55.78% of the procedures and a mixture of autogenous bone and βTCP was used in 41.49% of the procedures. Several parameters were recorded such as the average time to load implant abutments, the average residual bone height per implant, the length of the implants, and the most frequently replaced tooth. From these data, percentages as well as means and standard deviations were calculated to describe the variables. After one year of clinical follow-up, 4 failures were identified. Of these 4, 3 were early failures, the last one being reported at 6 months after prosthesis placement. In this study, the success rate was therefore 97.12%, which is in line with current similar studies. The present study showed that implant placement simultaneous to sinus floor elevation is a safe and predictable technique.
