Abstract : Background: Vaccination hesitancy has always accompanied vaccination policies and the law of compulsory vaccination on January 1, 2018 is no exception. The determinants of it are based on the sources of information, including the treating physician, not being the preferred source of hesitant parents. The objective of this study is to explore their sources, their arguments, analyze their reasoning and assess the confidence they place in their treating physician. Method: Qualitative study by semi-structured interviews of 9 hesitant vaccines, parents of at least one child under 2 years of age. Results: The dominant arguments are fear of side effects and mistrust of health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry that parents think are associated. The compulsory vaccination law fuels this hostility. Confidence in their doctor remains high, but parents fear conflicts of interest and thus doubt the transparency of the information given. The reasoning seems to be based largely on personal feelings, which are at the origin of cognitive biases. Information fed by the same biases circulates on the internet, the use of which is systematic. Conclusion: The reasoning of hesitant parents is parasitized by cognitive biases creating ambivalence. Their false beliefs are fueled by the internet, the use of which is essential. Parents' distrust does not help to subscribe to the doctor’s speech for fear of conflicts of interest. Given the confidence placed in the doctor, he must be able to generate a discussion with the parent and support him by considering his beliefs and his reasoning.
