Recueil et comparaison des données de la phase interventionnelle de l’étude SPICES à 0 et 6 mois dans la Grappe 9

Abstract : Evaluate the effect of the SPICES project behaviour change intervention, carried out by community leaders in cluster 9 in the COB district over 6 months, compared to brief advice on cardiovascular risk according to the Interheart NL-IHRS score. Method : 6-month prospective interventional quantitative study, in cluster 9 in the COB district. Two-armed, randomized controlled trial : an intervention group attending behavior change meetings facilitated by accompanying citizens and a control group receiving minimal counseling alone. The included participants had a moderate cardiovascular risk score according to the Interheart NL-IHRS score, were 18 years of age or older, and lived or worked in the COB district. The primary endpoint was a 15% decrease in the Interheart score in the intervention group. The secondary endpoints were : reduction in BMI, decrease in the level of smoking and reported weekly alcohol consumption, improvement in diet (DASH-Q), improvement in physical activity level measured (IPAQ questionnaire) and improvement in quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF). Results : there was a non-significant decrease (1,63%) in the Interheart score in the intervention group and a non-significant increase in the control group. In both groups, a non-significant deterioration in quality of life according to WHOQOL-BREF and an increase in physical activity according to IPAQ were noted. The only significant difference between 0 and 6 months was an improvement in diet in the intervention group and a deterioration in the control group according to the DASH-Q score. Conclusion : the power of the study was reduced by the analysis of a single cluster. The coronavirus health crisis impacted the organization of the study, likely disproportionately affecting the intervention group. The results, although not significant, are in favor of a positive effect of the intervention compared to basic counseling.
