Impact de la pandémie à covid-19 sur le maintien dans l’emploi des femmes enceintes travaillant au CHU de Bordeaux durant la période de confinement de mars à mai 2020

Abstract : Context: during the containment of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, healthcare staff continued to work to ensure patient management. The main objective of this work is to describe the continued employment of pregnant women working at Bordeaux University Hospital during the confinement from March to May 2020. Method: a questionnaire was drawn up and data were collected during a telephone interview. The questionnaire is sent by e-mail or by post for non-respondents. Results: more than 70% of the pregnant women in the study did not work during the containment period. The majority of pregnant women's work stoppages in the 3rd trimester were for reasons unrelated to covid-19. For pregnant women in the 1st and 2nd trimester, the proportion of work stoppages with or without covid- 19 was similar. Of the women who were present in the workplace, 14.3% took care of covid-19 positive patients and all women were equipped with individual protective equipment. The majority of the women interviewed (72.7%) did not contact the occupational health service. Regarding the experiences of the women interviewed, 40% reported poorer than usual quality of sleep and more than half of the women interviewed perceived an increased level of stress. Conclusion: the consequences of the covid-19 pandemic on job retention are mainly observed among pregnant women in the 1st and 2nd trimester. The occupational health service was rarely requested and there was little or no risk assessment carried out. This work made it possible to confirm the organisational difficulties linked to the follow-up of the pregnant employee. In order to limit early work stoppages and encourage pregnant women to remain in employment, it is essential to harmonise practices concerning the monitoring of pregnant employees.
