Aspects vectoriels, cliniques, épidémiologiques et préventifs d'une pathologie zoologique : la fièvre hémorragique de Crimée-Congo

Abstract : Of all the viral hemorrhagic fevers recorded, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever is one of the most important, but also one of the most worrying. This zoonosis, caused by the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (VFHCC), is mainly transmitted by a tick : Hyalomma marginatum. Still unknown in France, it is recognizable by its large size and the striped appearance of its legs. These ticks have complex biological cycles, and their expansion is increasing, favored by the role played by animal hosts. Appeared during the Second World War and which can be fatal, the increasing incidence of this pathology is part of a context of globalization and climate change, favoring the circulation of parasites in new areas of distribution and the development of the disease. in new parts of the world. The variability of VFHCC, the difficulty of large-scale screening, and the lack of therapeutic treatment and preventive vaccine currently pose a risk to public health. To date, national, European and global surveillance using collaborative tools between states has made it possible to bring back a lot of information and to anticipate future outbreaks of disease. But this monitoring is far from being exhaustive, due to the inequality of the means implemented in these monitoring tools. The dispensary pharmacist is therefore an essential player in prevention and in providing appropriate advice. In the future, it is therefore essential to increase international cooperation to develop means of disease surveillance in humans and animals, of vector control, of specific and preventive innovative and effective treatments and to make available large-scale diagnostic tests in endemic areas in order to respond to the risk of developing this pathology.
