Les ruptures d'approvisionnement en pharmacie d'officine : état des lieux et axes d'amélioration

Abstract : Drug supply shortages have been on the rise worldwide for several years. These ruptures are the result of an increasingly technical and globalized production chain and an ever-increasing global demand. The ability of manufacturers and distributors to react to these phenomena is limited by regulatory and economic constraints. Drug shortages can penalize patients in accessing treatment and can threaten the quality and safety of therapeutic management. Despite the various regulatory and legislative measures taken by health authorities and public authorities since 2011 in France, reports of shortages increase each year and constitute a major challenge for access to medicines. The pharmacist is on the front line facing this phenomenon through its role in dispensing the drug. The search for solutions to this problem mobilizes the pharmacy teams and the carers on a daily basis. The implementation of additional measures in the coming years appears necessary in order to preserve an efficient and safe health system for patients.
