Les cellules CAR-T : état des lieux, défis et perspectives

Abstract : CAR‐T cells are advanced therapy medicinal products and more specifically gene therapy medicinal products reflecting the advancement of personalized medicine in the field of immunotherapy. CAR‐T cells are T lymphocytes taken from the patient by apheresis and then genetically modified to allow them to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for an antigen expressed by the patientʹs tumor. The two CAR‐T cells currently on the European market are indicated in the treatment of certain malignant hemopathies expressing CD19. These are Kymriah® from Novartis and Yescarta® from Gilead. CAR‐T cells also face a significant number of challenges, particularly with regard to their production, the management of toxicity and adverse effects, and also their cost and reimbursement.
