Approche psychomotrice par le mouvement comme soutien à la corporéité chez le sujet polyhandicapé

Abstract : Multiple disabilities result in motor, sensory and cognitive deficits, leading to a delay in the child's overall development, as well as delays in certain skills. These deficits may be the cause of a discrepancy between what the child knows about his or her body and what he or she can do with his or her kinaesthetic body. Thus, it is a question of proposing to the young person within the framework of a psychomotricity care and within a relational process, a setting in movement and a setting in act of its body so that it forges its body conscience. The support of this bodily conscience will allow the joint construction of psychic processes. The child becomes a subject, a notion that highlights the phenomenological aspect of the body and proposes the body as a being in the world. This ability to appropriate one's experience and to be oneself is inseparable from the construction of a clear identity and a feeling of continuity of existence. Thus, psychomotricity time with multi-handicapped people will ensure that experiences of exploration of the young person, his body, his possibilities, his expectations and his intentions emerge. To support them in a better understanding of their experiences in order to ideally develop a psycho-bodily identity as well as a psycho-bodily unity, so that they can fully live their physicality.
