Place de la prothèse amovible dans la prise en charge de l'enfant atteint d'oligodontie

Abstract : Oligodontia is a rare disease of human development. It is defined by the congenital absence of 6 or more teeth, excluding the third molar with temporary and / or permanent teeth. The diagnosis of oligodontia must be made as early as possible, in order to guide child care at an early stage. Oligodontia causes a real functional and aesthetic deficit with potential impacts for the well-being and psychological balance of young patients. The long and complex treatment is multidisciplinary requiring the coordination of many caregivers. After discussing the diagnosis and the repercussions of oligodontia, we will look for the various existing therapeutics and will specifically seek to define the place of the removable prosthesis in the treatment sequence as well as its advantages and disadvantages.
