Comparaisons de moniteurs d’activité et de méthodes d’analyse dans l’étude du pattern de marche de la vie quotidienne chez des populations saines et atteintes de limitations fonctionnelles

Abstract : Study objectives: The use of wearable activity monitors presents real opportunities to address multiple issues in the context of mobile health. To describe more precisely human walking pattern, we will question the impact of measurement methods and devices on accelerometer data’s validity. Methods: Convergent validity protocol: to compare data from different devices and analysis methods for 40 healthy subjects and 24 PAD patients. Criterion validity protocol: to determine which devices and methods are the most accurate and relevant for 5 healthy subjects. Devices: ActivPAL3, StepWatch 3/4, wGT3X, GoPro. Analysis: Matlab, R. Results and discussion: Processed data are dependent on the analysis tools and methods in both healthy subjects and patients with PAD. Conclusion: The use of different devices and analysis methods can provide a different picture of the daily-life walking pattern. Bout-based analysis methodology created here seems promising.
