Rééducation proprioceptive de l’entorse latérale de cheville : surface stable ou surface instable ?

Abstract : Context: The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of instable and stable surface on such proprioceptive exercises following ankle ligament injury. Method: A systematic review of the databases PUBmed, the Cochrane library, PEDro, Kinédoc, Google scholar, ResearchGate in addition to manual searching databases wasconducted. Given the heterogeneity of results, no meta-analysis was conducted. The methodological quality of the literature was reviewed using the R-AMSTAR scale tool (32/44). Results: We included a total of 6 studies for analysis. Even if no consensus was found because of the low level of evidence, all studies went through the same conclusion. Ankleproprioception seems not to be targeted by exercises on unstable surface. Conclusion: Stable surface and unstable surface associated with destabilization of rear foot are preferred for enhance ankle proprioception after lateral sprain injury. Unstable surface should be used for muscular reinforcement of the foot and improving balance.
