Le ludique et le dramatique en question : l'anglais et l'espagnol au cycle 2 à l'heure du jeu

Abstract : From games to theatrical play, it is certain that children play. But is it possible to learn while playing at school? While it is a key element of the first part of the primary school’s program, playing becomes increasingly rare as we grow. So why not continue to learn through games in the second part of primary school? And why not play while learning a language? Regional or foreign, modern languages are a learning experience that opens up infinite possibilities. Pinacle, Mathilde and Mariana, three students in their final year of master’s degree, in the course Métiers de l’enseignement, de l’éducation et de la formation (MEEF) asked themselves this question: is it possible to learn a foreign language in the second part of primary school through games? But ways to play... are abundant! What to do? What to choose? This is the problem we were faced with. To answer these questions, we chose to set up two teaching systems in second and third grade in which English and Spanish are taught on a daily basis. While one of us reflects on games, the other two will set up a teaching system inspired by drama. This research is grounded into the different possibilities offered by learning a foreign language through games and play. By trying to answer several hypotheses, we invite you to share this fun adventure with us. So… Everyone on stage!
