Frottis cervicaux actinomyces positifs chez les patientes porteuses de dispositifs intra-utérins : revue de la littérature

Abstract : Background: the prevalence of positive actinomyces like organisms (ALO) of women using intrauterine device (IUD) is estimated between 1,6 TO 11,5%, they may cause pelvic actinomycosis, inflammatory disease, including complications. Nowadays it is recommended to remove the IUD in symptomatic women and to left in situ in asymptomatic women. Objectives: finding recommendations updates for the screening and treatment of ALO positive of women using IUD. Methods. Systematic review of studies about diagnosis and treatment of ALO positive of IUD users, actinomyces and pelvis actinomycosis. Results: 16 articles have been selected. The management of ALO smears of IUD users remains identical. Pelvic actinomycosis has to be a differential diagnosis in case of chronic pelvis pain, asthenia-anorexia-weight loss, pelvis syndrome mass or inflammatory syndrome. The histopathological analysis remains the diagnosis gold-standard tool. Conclusion: the current recommendations are still relevant.
