Évaluation de la gêne sexuelle des patientes ayant bénéficié d’une chirurgie de l’incontinence urinaire d’effort par mise en place d’une bandelette sous-urétrale

Abstract : Objective: The purpose was to evaluate medium-term sexual discomfort of midurethral sling surgery. Material and methods: This was a retrospective monocentric cohort study with control group conducted at the University Hospital of Grenoble Alpes. We assessed sexual discomfort and fonction using the Pelvi-Perineal Surgery Sexuality Questionnaire (PPSSQ), pre- and postoperatively, in 118 patients who underwent suburethral sling surgery between January 2014 and December 2019. A control group of "healthy volunteers" without suburethral sling was formed. The two groups were matched on age and menopausal status, resulting in 105 women in the "patient" group and 105 in the "healthy volunteer" control group. A comparative pre and postoperative analysis was also performed. Results: No statistically significant difference was observed in the "discomfort and pain" scores of the "patient" and "healthy volunteer" groups (respective means of 19.8 and 15.4 ; p value of 0.19). Similarly, there was no difference in the "sexual health" score between these two groups (mean of 62 for the "patients" and 60.6 for the "healthy volunteers"; p value = 0.35). A sensation of obstacle in the vagina was significantly more present in the "patients" group (16%) than in the "healthy volunteers" (2.6%) (p value = 0.001). We did not observe any difference in pre- and postoperative scores. Conclusion: Suburethral slings do not influence the discomfort of women during penetrative sex in medium term.
