Ruptures d’approvisionnement : problème de santé publique ?

Abstract : Supply shortages are a phenomenon that has been on the rise since the beginning of the last decade. There are many causes for this, at every stage of the drug manufacturing and distribution cycle. It therefore concerns many stakeholders such as health industries and national drug safety agencies. It has an important impact on the organisation of the health system, both at the level of health professionals and patients. Different bodies have drafted reports to gain a better understanding of these problems and have put forward various proposals to act on the different components of the disruptions, which are above all the regulatory aspects, including the quality and production of health products, and the economic aspects with the price of the medicine and measures to encourage more local production. The coronavirus health crisis has exacerbated the causes of supply shortage and has led to consideration of other solutions to this public health problem.
