Santé mentale et contexte urbain dans la ville de Créteil

Abstract : Mental and neurologic disorder are ones of the most important issues of public health. Schizophrenia represent an important part of mental disorders, in particular in France where around 600.000 peoples are affected. If individual characteristics such as heredity or emotional schock are well recognized as factors of development of mental disorders , environmental factors – especially in urban environment –remain few studied. In this way, GéoPsy research study have developped to analyse these individual and environmental factors on mental disorders. Our study focused on environmental dimensions. Originality of our study is double : i) urban environmental dimension is a very recent question among mental studies, and ii) residential environment is defined from limits of perceived neighbourhood of participant – and no longer based on pre-defined adminitrative neighorhood
