Enquête sur la place d'internet chez la femme enceinte au cours de la grossesse

Abstract : Background: The Internet is booming today, widely used by pregnant women for research during pregnancy. Exploring the reasons for their research on the internet and their influences on the experience of pregnancy is of great interest, since this is a period of significant emotional vulnerability. Methods: The main objective of the study was to find out the reasons for pregnant women to do their research on the Internet. A qualitative study with a descriptive and interpretative aim was investigated, and the participants were recruited on social networks. A total of thirteen women took part in a semi-structured interview within a year of giving birth. Results: Women use the internet to its accessibility and immediacy. The possibility of exchanges with their peers through social networks is also very appreciated. In this way internet seems to make up for the lack of support during pregnancy, and the follow-up schedule needs to be improved. Discussion: The different literature data on Internet use during pregnancy have been found and depth in this study. In addition, it would be interesting to investigate the knowledge of health professionals regarding the internet. Conclusion: The various digital tools relating to the Internet prove to be highly attractive during pregnancy and contribute, on a double-edged basis, to reassuring or increasing the anxiety of pregnant women.
