Abstract : Environmental health has become a very important public health issue in recent years. It has been shown that the environment has direct effects on health because of the many pollutants present in our daily lives, especially in homes with cleaning, hygiene and food-related products. The environment is becoming a major determinant of health responsible for the emergence of environmental inequalities that affect vulnerable families, due to their ability to act on their diminished environment. Moreover, we observe that actions to promote environmental health are mainly aimed at the middle and upper classes. Adapting these actions to promote environmental health among vulnerable families appears necessary for the maintenance of environmental justice. A qualitative survey was carried out through semi-structured interviews with 9 vulnerable parents housed in social rehabilitation centres, which made it possible to bring out the different needs and representations in environmental health, and 3 interviews with 3 promoters of promotion projects of environmental health with precarious populations to understand the methodological and strategic elements to be taken into account in order to adapt an action to this public. The recommendations made by this work aim to promote environmental health among vulnerable families through appropriate actions that take into account the field reality, the needs of families and data from the literature. A participatory approach, multi-professional partnerships and peer support are elements of successful action to strengthen the empowerment of precarious families.
