L'image du tabac dans la société à travers le temps et la publicité

Abstract : Currently, there are many campaigns aimed to the fight against tobacco. But this has not always been the case. For years, tobacco companies have used marketing tactics to promote their tobacco products. While advertisers succeeded in making tobacco a "must-have", in the 1950s, discoveries about its hazards quickly reversed the trend. Increasingly restrictive measures against tobacco were then applied, pressuring the industry to make more efforts and to develop new tactics to have news consumers. If these "pro-tobacco" groups use marketing strategies to achieve their goal, they are not alone. Indeed, health authorities and "anti-tobacco" groups use similar techniques such as social marketing, or critical social marketing, this time with the opposite objective, which is to push consumers to change their smoking behavior.
