Pharmacie clinique en oncopédiatrie : réalisations d’entretiens pharmaceutiques et de séances d’éducation thérapeutique

Abstract : Childhood and adolescent cancers are rare diseases, the use of oral chemotherapy and the compliance issue for this population make it a major public health issue. The pharmacist contributes to the safety of medication management by conducting Pharmaceutical Interviews (PI) and participating in the Therapeutic Patient Education (TPE) program, for those high-risk patient. These two activities are part of the medical project of our pediatric oncology unit. This work involves the performance of PI with families by a full-time resident, the evaluation of an educational assessment framework and a test phase of educational sessions of the Dynamo* program, adapted for the youngest children. Over a period of 17 months, 37 families were received for a total number of 74 PI. Nine families accepted to participate in TPE sessions, for a total of 17 workshops carried out. All the families were satisfied with the duration, the vocabulary used and the topics covered, for both activities. Suggestions for improvement focused on when to perform these workshops in the child's health care pathway. This work suggests that carrying out these PI and these educational sessions adapted from the Dynamo* program is possible and relevant. In the future, it would be interesting to implement this TPE program, to evaluate the feasibility of integrating a pharmacist punctually and to offer these two pharmaceutical activities in the patients' care pathway. *Therapeutic patient education program under the aegis of the SFCE.
