Améliorer la présence à distance sur un campus virtuel d'école de commerce

Abstract : Interactions through screens between teacher and learner and between learners themselves have become commonplace due to the global pandemic. Despite the physical distance, presence as well as proximity are not only geographical. But how can this presence be guaranteed in distance learning? The teacher’s pedagogical presence can help create a motivational climate that facilitates collaboration among learners. The teachers and students of ESSCA Online Campus emphasise through numerous surveys and interviews that the greater the presence, the more social ties of proximity are established between the agents of a learning course. Keeping cameras on is desirable for better awareness of others, but proximity and presence are more evident in group work enriched by teacher feedback and in the level of student engagement. Creating a safe space not only increases this engagement and defies geographical distance, but also transforms the group of learners from around the world into a present learning community.
