Évaluation à 12 mois de l’effet des interventions de changement de comportement du projet SPICES sur la réduction des risques cardio-vasculaires des participants de la grappe 2

Abstract : Cardiovascular diseases are the words leading cause of death. The SPICES project developed non-drug methods for the primary prevention of CVD. This preliminary study analyse the effectiveness of behavior change interventions carried out by accompanying citizens for COB country cluster 2 participants at 12 months compared to simple counseling. Method : randomized and quantitative prospective interventional controlled study in cluster 2 of the COB country. The included population had a moderate cardiovascular risk according to the INTERHEART score, 18 years or older and lived or worked in the country of COB. The participants of the “intervention” arm received in addition to the minimum prevention advice, intervention meetings aimed at behavior change and carried out by a trained citizen. The "control" arm only benefited from minimal prevention advice. The primary endpoint at 12 months was a decrease in the INTERHEART score in the intervention group. Secondary endpoints were assessed by : WHOQOL-brief, DASH-Q, IPAQ, BMI measurement, alcohol consumption. Results : No significant differences were found between the “control” and “intervention” groups at 12 months. Discussion : the study will continue and the analysis of all clusters will allowed to have a more powerful study. The Covid 19 pandemic and its consequences such as confinements have changed the lifestyle of the participants and the conduct of the study. FDRCV are also the factors of a serious Covid 19 infection, increasing the importance of cardiovascular prevention.
