Calcul de la largeur à pleins bords de grands cours d’eau à partir de MNT LiDAR

Abstract : From the first half of the 19th century, human activities in the aquatic environment (channelization, dams, granulate extraction) have continued to intensify, generating the anthropic pressures that are now well known. The hydromorphological study of the bed of watercourses, through the bankfull geometry (level, width), makes it possible to analyse their erosive response and their adaptation to the various factors disturbing their dynamic. These are essential indicators for understanding the ecological balance of an environment in order to ensure its good status within the meaning of the Water Framework Directive. The use of a LiDAR DTM for the automatic identification of bankfull parameters made it possible to obtain a continuous mapping of widths over the entire alluvial plain of a large French river. A hydraulic depth approach following the principles described by Faux et al. (2009) and De Rosa et al. (2019) was implemented. The introduction of new criteria for the selection of the bankfull level seems to allow this methodology to be applied effectively on sites with complex morphology.
