La conception d’un manuel de FLE contextualisé dans un pays arabophone : l’exemple du manuel Allons-y ! pour les écoles du secondaire au Soudan

Abstract : In Arab countries, French textbooks produced localy are rare. Research professors use French textbooks edited in France, often ethnocentred on France, which are not suitable for Arabic-speaking learners. The French textbook Allons-y ! specially developed for secondary schools in Sudan, emerges through the uniqueness of its non-commercial production. It is the result of a collaborative Franco-Sudanese work funded by an PSF (Priority Solidarity Fund) of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Sudanese Ministry of Education. This Master’s Thesis poses the following problem : how does this textbook respond to what we can expect from a contextualized French textbook in Arabicspeaking countries ? Its aim is to understand according to which criteria this French textbook was written and to compare it with what the research recommends, for a successful contextualization. The methodology is based on interviews with the authors and actors of the project and on a comparative analysis of the old and the new textbook. This research serves as an example. It helps to feed knowledge on contextualized French learning textbook in Arabic-speaking countries.
