Transmission de l'information palliative en Languedoc-Roussillon : étude multicentrique

Abstract : Background: the palliative information sheets, including the Urgence Pallia sheet, are tools that describe a patient's basic situation, anticipate complications and transmit them to adjust possible emergency interventions. Objectives: describe the use and content of these sheets in Languedoc-Roussillon. Describe the involvement of general practitioners in the filling out of these forms. Method: transmission sheets identified by regulation centers of Languedoc-Roussillon. Measure the filling rate of each item based on the city of origin and the structure of the sheet (national or specific to the original establishment). Results: Urgence Pallia forms represent 14 of the 148 transmission forms identified by the two responding centers. They show a significantly higher filling rate than other transmission sheets produced by some establishments, especially for the criteria such as the desire for resuscitation, the preferred place of death or advance directives. There is also a significantly difference between the average ages of the two centers. This difference can be explained by the presence of young children in palliative situations in Pyrénées-Orientales. This specific population also leads to a different distribution of diseases, with orphan diseases in the same proportion as cancer-related diseases. No general pratictioner was involved in the filling of this sample’s forms. Conclusion: the better filling rate, especially for critical items, validates the use of the national form of the Pallia Emergency form. The lack of representation of general practitioners among the editors justifies the diffusion of this tool and the associated guidance.
