Besoins et attentes des femmes pratiquant la symptothermie vis-à-vis des professionnels de santé en France

Abstract : Introduction: 5% of French women would turn to a natural method of contraception according to the 2016 health barometer. The objective of this work was to focus on women practicing symptothermia, to study their needs and expectations, in order to determine what place could health professionals have in their support. Method: A descriptive, cross-sectional epidemiological quantitative study was carried out on 70 women. Recruitment was done through the symptothermia counselors and took place from April 2021 to June 2021. Result: The needs collected were a desire for guidance, information and support from health professionals. At the same time, these women have expectations, they would like to have access to more trained health professionals who would document them on the symptothermie network (via lists of counselors, contact details for organizations and associations). Conclusion: Whatever the motivations of women turning to symptothermia, they expect support from health professionals. Better training for the latter could help in monitoring these women. Dedicated consultations would make it possible, for clear and complete information, to provide documentation such as lists of counselors in symptothermy, organizations or associations.
