Dentisterie a minima : cavité slot et cavité tunnel, indications, intérêts, réalisation et matériaux

Abstract : Minimally dentistry is a working philosophy aimed at preserving hard dental tissues as much as possible. It purposes to conserve their biomechanical properties and the least invasive as possible therefore, to limit the extend of our restorations during an eventual reoperation. The caries risk assessment and the educate our patients about these risks are essential for therapeutic success. Only low caries risk patients can benefit from conservative micro-dentistry procedures.Among these ultra-conservative treatments, we can quote tunnel and slot preparations. They have limited indications, require specific equipment and follow a strict and meticulous protocol. However, they make it possible to preserve a structure of interest: the peripheral marginal ridge. The introduction will address the concepts of caries risk and minimally dentistry. The first part will present the indications of slot and tunnel preparations; The second one, the interests of these two types of cavities; the third one, the protocols and materials used; The last one, will present the limits and difficulties of realization.
