La coopération au service des apprentissages et du climat scolaire : tutorat et conseils des élèves

Abstract : The present thesis focuses on cooperative practices in cycle 3, serving the school climate, mutual aid and learnings. In light of the contributions of research on cooperation, the needs of the child, citizenship or professional teaching practices, the study aims to assess the impact of pupils’ council and peer tutoring on classroom life. The issue is, on the one hand, the improvement of the classroom climate as well as the well-being of the students and, on the other hand, the definition of characteristics of the teacher's posture in this type of class project. From the experimentation, in class, of pupils’ council, we understand the value of bringing the debate to the heart of the class, to question citizens’ principles, rules and laws or the dimensions of collective life. The experience of the implementation of tutoring leads to the conclusion that this tool is a factor of commitment, motivation and cohesion within the class group. Finally, the study affirms that the teacher's gaze, words and support play an important role in the success of such projects, giving everyone a place in the collective dynamic, finding the right balance between benevolence and demand.
