État des lieux de la connaissance du point de garde médicale, étude menée auprès des usagers des urgences pédiatriques de Lisieux

Abstract : The aim is to study users' knowledge of the permanence of ambulatory care to which they have access, particularly about the point of medical care. The first question is whether they know of the existence of this guard point. The reasons leading to the decision to resort to emergencies and the acceptability of being redirected towards a liberal consultation are also studied. The study is being carried out in the pediatric emergency room in Lisieux. This is an epidemiological, singlecenter, observational, prospective, anonymous study, carried out over 14 periods of 24 hours, between July 18, 2019 and January 19, 2020. Patients called back for a check-up are excluded. A survey is distributed at the reception and put away in a closed envelope, a second survey is filled out by the doctor. Incomplete surveys are excluded. 31.4% of the 370 people questioned were aware of the existence of the medical point of care. The choice to consult the emergency room is explained by the unavailability of the child's usual doctor (41.7% of cases) or by symptoms that seem serious or urgent (37.8%). 57.3% of the people questioned declared that they would agree to be redirected towards a consultation of liberal medicine. 67% of consultations are "felt emergencies" and could medically be carried out in town. Lack of knowledge of the medical point of care remains important in the population consulting pediatric emergencies. The lack of information and communication on this subject is one of the possible areas for improvement so that the population can benefit efficiently from the entire healthcare system in an appropriate manner.
