Utilisation des IMAO : une étude rétrospective naturalistique et habitudes de prescriptions des antidépresseurs par les psychiatres normands

Abstract : The characterized depressive disorder is a frequent psychiatric pathology and a major public health issue. Unfortunately, the first antidepressants discovered in the fifties are now forgotten in the therapeutic arsenal of characterized depressive episodes. This ten-year retrospective study in the Normandy population evaluates the efficacy and tolerance of treatment with phenelzine, an irreversible and non-selective MAOI. It is accompanied by a study on the prescribing habits of antidepressants among Norman psychiatrists, to understand the resistance to the prescription of these MAOIs. The results presented support the undeniable effectiveness of these "atypical" antidepressants and the perpetuation of mistaken beliefs among potential prescribers.
