Carie précoce de l’enfance : techniques de temporisation en pré-anesthésie générale

Abstract : The delay between diagnosis and general anesthesia, which is conducive to the development of early childhood caries, represents a loss of opportunity. This review of the literature identifies and evaluates therapies for delaying caries disease. The objective is to develop a protocol for the management of these young patients. Silver diamine fluoride has been shown to be the most effective. Other treatment such as provisional restorations, silver nitrate and fluoride varnish have shown inferior results or insufficient levels of evidence. Management of risk factors is a necessary adjunct to any temporization and can lead to better results and a lower risk of recurrence after the final procedure.
