Promotion de la santé par la mise en place d'activités en ergothérapie auprès d'adultes atteints d'obésité

Abstract : Background: Adults suffering from obesity often have eating disorders with an occupational deficit. This study aimed to determine the potential of occupation to reduce dietary intake in adults with obesity. Method: Five semi-structured interviews were carried out with five occupational therapists who had already taken care of patients with obesity. The interviews were transcribed before conducting a cross-sectional analysis. Results: Generally, when patients performed more activities, there was also a reduction in eating disorders. However, relapses were observed if the underlying psychiatric disorder was not resolved. Conclusion: The development of activities could allow for a fulfillment and reorganisation of time. This contributed to the reduction of compulsive eating. However, the care must also focus on the psychological side of the disease.
