Évaluation à un an de la perte de calage occlusal postérieur provoquée par le port d’une orthèse d’avancée mandibulaire dans le cadre d’un syndrome d’apnée obstructive du sommeil

Abstract : Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) show a growing incidence un the general population, and have important repercussion on the overall health of the affected patients. Mandibular Advancement Devices (MADs) are an available treatment in some indications for these respiratory problems. However, these devices are the origin of several changes of the dental occlusion. Those changes still remain poorly defined, that’s why in this work we aim to assess the loss of posterior occlusal support caused by wearing a mandibular advancement device by comparing the initial dental occlusion to the occlusion after one year of wearing the device. To answer this problem, we carried out a study among a population of patients from the dental center of la Timone, treated with MADs for an OSAS, using bite registrations taken at different points in time during the treatment.
