Lire avec les oreilles. Quels usages pédagogiques pour le livre audio au collège ?

Abstract : Although on the rise in French cultural practices, the audio book is underused in libraries and school media centers where its use is closely linked to disability. Its use is also hampered by the numerous areas of uncertainty linked to the technical and legal complexity that surrounds it. However, it is likely to facilitate access to literature for young readers and therefore has important advantages for educational use in schools. It can overcome the difficulties associated with writing not only among students with visual or cognitive deficits but among all those for whom entry to middle school marks a decline in the practice of reading. This study describes its technical and practical methods of use within a documentary space and questions the educational uses that can accompany it. It also reports on the experimental implementation of a sound library in a middle school in the administrative district of Aix-Marseille.
