Utilisation des banques de données urbaines pour la délimitation des bassins versants pluviaux de l'agglomération caennaise

Abstract : The use of Geographical Information Systems in Urban areas has considerably increased for the last decade. This work is devoted to making the most of available databases for a sewer evaluation study of Caen urban agglomeration. A hydrological analysis based on the geographical information was performed. This analysis identifies the stormwater path from each cadastral parcel to a given outlet. An inventory of the available geographical data was made and thanks to a preliminary validation step, their quality was improved. The implementation of this analysis on the entire city of Caen has resulted in two hydrological applications: the automatic delineation of watersheds associated with a set of outflows connections to the stream river network and the spatial distribution of the imperviousness coefficient. The results obtained provide detailed information on the hydrological features of the city, and constitute a solid basis to carry out both sewer evaluation studies and the simulation of the storm sewer system by the means of hydrological models.
