De la relation de la femme à la contraception

Abstract : Objectives : Evaluate the representation of useful contraceptive information for all women during the various events of their genital life, and apprehend which ways and what moments are the more appropriate to deliver them all useful and effective contraceptive information which are considered relevant.

Methods : We carried out a retrospective survey from the 14th of April to the 30th of July 2009 using a questionnaire. The women were recruited following 3 groups: a post-abortion population (centre of family planning from the teaching hospital at Angers and Clotilde Vautier from the mutualist clinic Jules Verne at Nantes), a post-childbirth population (department of post-childbirth from the teaching hospital at Angers) and a more global population (within practice of 24 general practitioners or gynaecologist). Proved to be excluded from the scope of the study the impuberal female teenagers and the women over 50 years old.

Results : We recruited 57 patient in the post-abortion group, 63 patients in the post- childbirth group and 93 patients of the global population. The use of a 1/3 sure sources (general practitioners or gynaecologist) and a 1/3 reliable ones (school sex education) allowed the women to acquire knowledge about the contraception. However, the question of desire and the ambivalence which associate with it, the women history and the recurrent possibility of human mistakes could partially lead to a possible unplanned pregnancy. In fact, their request around the most adapted moment for the contraceptive information concerned the post-pregnancy, which it is interrupted behaviour deliberate or by the delivery.

Conclusion : A personalized care provided when the women receptivity appears to be optimal (especially at the end of pregnancy trip, once the technical steps are over), allows manifestly a reliable, complete and thought more useful contraceptive information. The unplanned pregnancies last, and the wrong paradox between the contraceptive panel and the stable rate of abortion will continue to question the sociologist.
