Don de sang de cordon : vécu, information et motivations des sages-femmes

Abstract : The cord blood is a recognized source of stem cells. The expansion of the French network gives midwives a prominent place at different stages of this gift. Responsiveness, knowledge of midwives on the DSC and the impact of the introduction of the latter in the delivery room were evaluated. Through a multicentric study by questionnaire. A questionnaire is designed for midwives practicing the DSC and a second to those working in maternity wards without DSC. It is remarkable that in nearly 100% of midwives felt that their role is to participate in practice and the DSC. 95% of midwives wishing to receive training. Finally 87% consider it easy to integrate the DSC to their practice. Midwives have a primary role in the realization of placental blood donation and they welcome the introduction of the levy in their practice in the delivery room.
