Pertinence des courriers de sortie du service de pneumologie du CH de Chambéry‎ : les courriers répondent-ils aux attentes de médecins traitants ?

Abstract : This thesis aims to evaluate discharge summaries from the department of pneumology of the Hospital of Chambéry (Centre Hospitalier de Chambéry, France). Between January 1st 2009 and June 15th 2009, 90 hospital stays were analyzed. These hospital stays were randomly selected from 3 physicians (e.i., 30 hospital stays per hysician). In order to evaluate and compare the discharges summaries, a quotation grid was established. This grid was designed from published expectations of family practitioner ; 15 essential information were selected for comparative analysis and feedback. Discharge summaries were emitted for 98.9% of the analyzed hospital stays. Out of these, 98.9% were edited in the 8 days following the discharge of the patient. Administrative information was always present. Progress are expected for the restitution of the clinical exam, the hospital and the discharge medication, the follow up arrangements and the information given to the patients and their family.
