Acceptabilité par les médecins généralistes d'un système d'extraction automatique de données de leurs fichiers patients à des fins de recherche : étude quantitative réalisée sur 157 médecins généralistes maîtres de stage et non maîtres de stage

Abstract : General practitioners acceptance of patients files automatic data extraction (ADE) for primary health care research. Context: no medical data collection system exists in France for primary healthcare studies, as developped and offering the same possibilities than those existing in Anglo-Saxon countries. It would be possible if general practitioners accept to share their digital patient files data. Objectives: study general practitioners acceptance of ADE software installation on their computers for primary healthcare research. Identify the profiles of practitioners the most opened to participate in studies using ADE Software. Methodology: quantitative study by self-questionnaire filled by a general practitioners' sample of Brittany region, containing training course masters and no training course masters. This questionnaire was organized in four parts: general practitioners typology, primary healthcare research conception, fears for ADE Software installation, ADES specifications. The questionnaire had been validated with the thesis supervisers. Results and discussion: on 173 general practitioners having answered to the survey, 43% of no training course masters (95) and 46% of training course masters (63) filled completely the questionnaire. Three quarters of them agreed to install AED Softwares. Their conception of primary healthcare research and the fears they expressed about ADES installation impacted their choice. Some questions showed considerable differences between training course masters and no training course masters. Doctors' profiles more opened to ADE Softwares installation have been found. Conclusion: a great majority of general practitioners accept to install ADE Softwares, but in precise conditions established by contract. ADE Softwares will have to answer general practitioners fears through strict specifications to be accepted and allow the creation of an investigator doctors network.
