Profil contraceptif des femmes à travers le parcours d'interruption volontaire de grossesse

Abstract : Contraceptive profile of women through the abortion process. Material and method: Prospective descriptive survey conducted in the family planning clinic of Saint Vincent de Paul (AP-HP) and involving women who terminated their pregnancy and come for the control visit. The survey was conducted between October 2011 and February 2012 and 105 women answered the questionnaire distributed. Results: The abortion leads to a significant increase in the use of medical contraception methods (p=0,0008), in particular for long-acting reversible contraception (p=0,0002). The contraception used after abortion provides women a better satisfaction than the one used before abortion (p=0,0001). Conclusion: The abortion process permits to identify daily difficulties met by women regarding their contraception, and emphasizes the necessity that this contraception be adapted to women's way of life in order to prevent more efficiently unwanted pregnancies. Moreover, the abortion is a good time to address the questions related to contraception and unwanted pregnancy with women.
