Le mildiou de l'artichaut, modèle épidémiologique et moyens de lutte

Abstract : The main artichoke fungus problem in Brittany is downy mildew on leaves and flowers provoked by an oomycete Bremia lactucae Regel. Chemical control products are really scarce. Consequently over the last few years, downy mildew on artichoke modelling (MILART) and alternative products for controlling pathogens have been considered. The problem of this work was to know if protection against downy mildew can be improved by MILART and the use of alternative control products with the aim of adjusting and validating MILART, and to test resistance inducers in laboratory and field. Many simulations conducted with different parameters were compared to downy mildew growth within the network of fields followed from 2008 to 2011. Linear regressions and ANOVA have led to adjusting MILART. Then, with correct parameters, simulations with the data 2012 are conducted to validate MILART. A trial was carried out to compare model strategy with the classic downy mildew control strategy. The model MILART was validated for 'Alerte' dates. But calculation of first sporulation could not be validated, and had to be adjusted again notably with the improvement of data on Bremia lactucae conservation in winter. At the same time, many resistance inducers were tested in laboratory and fields. Three resistance inducers, P11T14 at 2,5%, P12JD04 at 3% and P10A04 at 2,5%, showed interesting results in laboratory. They were all tested in real field conditions. The first results revealed that P11T14 is the most effective against the downy mildew of artichoke.
