L'art délicat de concilier architecture et paysage

Abstract : Architecture and landscape have always coexisted. The development of one often has had an impact on the other, and this is mainly since the appearance of the modern movement that the two disciplines have diverged. This dissertation traces the common course of these disciplines through the centuries and it offers some explanation as to why it is difficult to reconcile architecture and landscape. Differences in training, perception, spatial and temporal segmentation of labor between the architect and the landscape architect, market crisis, underlying political issues, these are some of the main obstacles facing both professions. The harmony between both disciplines is yet possible, it's a matter of common ground. Not to mention the architecture and landscape share the same goal, and that is for the good of mankind...
