Vinz et Lou et le handicap : les TIC au service de l'inclusion

Abstract : Very much involved in the design of multi media educative programmes for children, Tralalere decided to devote its new animation series Vinz et Lou to disabilities. As project manager assistant, I intervened on the educative concepts on the series dedicated to French sign language. The will to raise awareness among the young audience abouth this method of communication adresses three issues. The first one carries a social stance and echoes the handicap law of February 2005 that establishes "equality of rights, chances, participation and citizenship of disabled persons". The second issue is philosophical, by chosing inclusiveness instead of adaptation, our society states its will to recognize all bodies. Lastly, the third issue is technological (but also industrial and economic). Making voices heard, insuring self-determination and mobility, favoring contacts between valid and non-valid are a few of the issues at stake for Information technologies.
